* children aged 2 to 8 years undergoing endoscopic adenoidectomy
* parental/child consent
* ASA I-II (American Society of Anaesthesiologists Physical Status)
* no central nervous system (CNS) or gastrointestinal tract (GIT) disease
* no corticosteroid medication
