Exclusion criteria

• ✕. Early-onset neonatal sepsis
• ✕. Pre-existing pneumonia
• ✕. A patient who was unfit for enteral intake.
• ✕. Prematurity \<37 gestational weeks.
• ✕. Surgical causes of mechanical ventilation
• ✕. Multiple congenital anomalies and suspected chromosomal anomalies.
