This study is an internal pilot for a multicenter, blinded randomized controlled trial. The purpose of the multicenter trial is to determine whether post-operative piperacillin/tazobactam is more effective than ceftriaxone and metronidazole for children treated with laparoscopic appendectomy for perforated appendicitis.
