Inclusion Criteria: * cirrhotic patients with ascites Exclusion Criteria: Infections other than SBP. * malignancy. * Antibiotic therapy before hospital admission. * Chemotherapy or radiotherapy within 1 month before admission. * Pancreatic diseases. * contraindication to paracentesis
