Inclusion criteria

. Patient is aged ≥ 30 years old.
. Patient has smoked on average at least 10 commercially available cigarettes per day for at least 5 years
. Patient has generalized chronic periodontitis (i.e., more than 30% of diseased teeth with a PD ≥ 4 mm).

Exclusion criteria
