✓. Patients referred to our tertiary care center with acute tonsillitis with or without signs of peritonsillar cellulitis and with or without infectious mononucleosis.
✓. Center Score 3 or 4.

Exclusion criteria

✕. Abscess formation.
✕. Previous tonsillectomy.
