Inclusion Criteria: * ASA physical status of I or II who were scheduled to undergo elective surgery of gastrointestinal tract with NGT insertion under general anesthesia were enrolled Exclusion Criteria: * Patients with maxillofacial trauma, inability to adequately protect airway, and esophageal abnormalities were excluded.
