Inclusion Criteria: * intact maxillary dental arch suitable to retain a palatal appliance, an intact mandibular dental arch and a stimulated/unstimulated saliva flow rate of ≥ 0.8 milliliter/minute (ml/min) and ≥ 0.2 ml/min respectively.
