Inclusion Criteria: * between 18 and 70 years old, requiring intubation andmechanical ventilation, requiring sedation with propofol or benzodiazepines and/or analgesia with narcotics Exclusion Criteria: * hearing loss, psychiatric illness, hemodynamically unstable (requirement for vasopressor support)
