Inclusion criteria

. Clinical, ultrasonographic and serologic diagnosis (ELISA) of amebic liver abscess.
. Both genders
. Older 15 years

Exclusion criteria

. Clinically suspected piogenous liver abscess
. Positive hemoculture
. Negative ELISA for amoebic antigens
. Immunosupresion (HIV)
. Abdominal or biliary surgery antecedents
. Abdominal neoplasia antecedents
