Inclusion Criteria: * diagnosis of PAD * intermittent claudication * limited walking capacity Exclusion Criteria: * macologically uncontrolled type 2 diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, hypertension * major depressive disorder * current or prior cerebrovascular complications (including large vessel ischemic stroke with chronic functional impairment) * neurodegenerative diseases
