Inclusion Criteria: * scheduled for elective direct laryngoscopy with surgical intervention * written informed consent of the parents or legal guardian Exclusion Criteria: * refusal of informed consent * known allergy for dexmedetomidine * known allergy for remifentanil * pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) is lower than 85%, at induction of anesthesia
